Ottawa Mortgages is an independent information and referral service. We do not lend money, arrange mortgages, give mortgage advice, or make credit decisions. We are not licensed as a mortgage brokerage, broker or agent under Ontario’s mortgage brokering legislation.

How the referral works

If you complete a form or quiz on our site and ask to be contacted, your information may be shared with a licensed Ontario mortgage professional or brokerage so they can contact you about your request. Any advice, quote or mortgage product comes from that licensed professional or lender, not from us.

How we are compensated

We may receive compensation from the licensed professionals or brokerages we refer people to. Compensation does not change what our guides say, but it is a commercial relationship and you should know about it.

Verify any broker’s licence

In Ontario, mortgage brokerages, brokers and agents must be licensed by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA). You can verify a licence on the FSRA website before sharing personal information.

We do not publish mortgage rate offers. Any rate you are quoted comes from a lender or a licensed professional and can change without notice.
